Delete Segment

Delete a segment from your workspace.

Use Cases:

• Remove unused or obsolete segments
• Clean up after campaign completion
• Consolidate duplicate segments
• Archive old targeting definitions
• Simplify segment management

Behavior:

• Segment definition is permanently deleted
• Does NOT delete contacts (only the segment definition)
• Active campaigns using this segment may break
• Automations referencing this segment need updates
• Cannot be undone - segment is permanently removed
• Historical campaign data referencing segment is preserved

Required Scope: write:segments

Data Impact:

• Segment record and conditions are deleted
• Contacts remain in workspace (unaffected)
• Campaign references to this segment become invalid
• Automation triggers using this segment may fail
• Analytics data for campaigns using this segment preserved

Important:

• Verify no active campaigns are using this segment
• Update or pause automations referencing this segment
• Consider exporting segment definition before deleting
• Cannot recover segment definition after deletion

Note: This only deletes the segment definition, not the contacts within it. Contacts remain in your workspace.
